Jeff’s Betting Pick- NFL Playoffs Week 1

Bills (-6.5) over the Colts.

Arguably the hottest team in football right now the Bills offense is clicking on all cylinders averaging a  mammoth 47 points per game the last three games.  Their defense has also improved tremendously as the year has gone by.  In their last six games they have only allowed 18 points per game.  The Colts have had a fine season winning 11 games, but only three of those came against other playoff teams (Bears, Titans, and Packers).  They are an indoor team and this game will be out in cold Buffalo.  Jonathon Taylor has been exceptional the last month of the season and Buffalo is only middle of the pack in rushing yards allowed per game, but just like their defense as a whole, their run defense has been a bit better the second half of the season.  If the Bills can get ahead in this game by putting some points on the board, which I believe they will, they will take away the Colts biggest weapon in Taylor.  The only question marks for the Bills are Stefon Diggs, who now appears will play and Cole Beasley, who thought to be out for sure actually practiced on Thursday.  Xavier Rhodes had a nice season, but he is no match for Diggs.  Josh Allen will carve up this Colt pass defense. Philip Rivers is now practicing and without an injury tag, and that is likely the line has dropped from -7 to -6.5.  I am more than happy to gobble that number up, but don’t wait on this one in case it goes back to -7.  We have seen teams get hot toward the end of the season and ride that streak through the playoffs and this feels like that exact situation.
