Jeff’s Hardcore Core- NFL Week 2 Main Slate

If you have been with us a while, you will remember me talking about how much I like week 2 of the NFL season.  The main reason is most people overreact so badly to week 1, that it leaves open some opportunity for us to capitalize.  I do believe it is important to factor in what happened last week, but things need to be taken into context and all factors considered.  For instance- Julio Jones is not going to end up with the 30th most fantasy points at the end of the year, which is where he stands right now.  You have to factor in that the Falcons played a difficult Vikings defense in Minnesota and Jones drew a tough match-up with one of the better cornerbacks in the league, Xavier Rhodes.  How about Davante Adams, is he going to only catch 64 balls for 576 yards and zero touchdowns which he is currently on pace for after the first week?  Of course not, he was in Chicago who also has a very good defense and they made it a point to reduce his impact.  Adams and other elite players will be just fine even if they didn’t produce up to their expectations in week 1 because they had a difficult match-up.  Year after year, I see some players ownership be lower in week 2 strictly because of their results in week 1.  There are a number of instances this week that fit that description and I will talk in depth about them.

Good luck this week my friends!
