Sunday Night Showdown Slate- Chargers @ Raiders
Lines:
Chargers (-3) @ Raiders
O/U = 49
DVOA
Chargers against the run #26
Chargers against the pass #17
Raiders against the run #28
Raiders against the pass #26
Favorites:
Austin Ekeler, $11,600
- High ceiling, able to do it on the ground and in the passing game. Has found the endzone at least once in each of his last seven games.
- The Raiders rank 28th vs the run DVOA and allow the 4th most DK points to RBs.
- Ekeler ripped the Raiders for 117/1 on the ground and 3/28/1 through the air in week 4.
Justin Herbert, $11,400
- Normally hard to stack a QB and RB on the same roster when they are the two highest priced guys on the slate, but with Ekeler’s ability to catch the ball, I think we can do it here.
- At least 2 TD passes in six of his last seven games.
- Raiders are not much better against the pass ranking 26th
- Herbert went for 222/3 against them in week 4.
Mike Williams, $7,200
- I like Keenan Allen a bit more straight up, but the salary difference is tremendous ($10,400 vs $7,200). I have not problem with you owning Allen, I am just having a hard time fitting him into rosters and Nate Hobbs has been solid at slot corner.
- Williams has more TDs than Allen on the year (8 vs. 6)
- I like to pair him with Herbert and will even slide him into the Captain spot on some rosters.
- He will see some coverage from Casey Hayward Jr, which is not great, but he also might see some coverage from Brandon Facyson, which would be great.
Value:
Hunter Renfrow, $8,400
- So much volume for Renfrow lately with 8.3 targets per game over his last six games.
- 6/45/1 in his first meeting against the Chargers in week 4.
- My only concern is if Waller is active, it might cut into Renfrow’s volume, but I am going to build most of my rosters with a game script of the Chargers getting ahead.
Josh Jacobs, $7,800
- The Chargers weakness on defense has definitely been against the run (26th DVOA).
- Jacobs is the main goaline back for the Raiders, and we know how important TDs are in Showdown Slates.
- As of right now, he is listed as questionable. More information should come out late Sunday afternoon. If he plays, I will own him. If he is ruled inactive, I will then pivot to Peyton Barber (Sleepers)
Zay Jones, $6,400
- An uptick in volume lately 17 targets the last three games.
- Jones has produced: 8/120, 6/50, 6/67
- If we are building rosters according to a negative game script for the Raiders, I like Jones as an option and he is a bit cheaper than Renfrow.
Sleepers:
Jared Cook, $5,600
- With Parham on IR, Cook sees more volume (17 targets the last three weeks).
- He hasn’t put up a monster game (8.8, 6.2, 9.4) in those last three games, but if he can find the endzone and give us 12-14 points, we would be ok.
- Had his best game of the season against the Raiders in week 4 (6/70/1, 19 DK points).
Joshua Palmer $4,200 and/or Jalen Guyton $4,800
- Splitting time as the Chargers #3 receiver, which is not ideal, but both are capable of a long TD.
- Palmer has seen more volume his last couple of games (11 Targets), but Guyton sees a deep ball about once a game and if that connects, it would be huge.
- Both are low floor/decent ceiling options to stack with Herbert and save cap space.
Peyton Barber, $1,000
- If Jacobs is active and healthy, then I am not so high on Barber, although for $1,000, he might not be a bad option.
- He has seen 5 or 6 carries and 1 or 2 targets in each of the past three games.
- If Jacobs is out this looks to be a tremendous bargain.
