Sunday Night Showdown Slate- Steelers @ Chargers

Lines:

Steelers @ Chargers (-6)

O/U = 47

DVOA

Steelers against the run #17
Steelers against the pass #15
Chargers against the run #32
Chargers against the pass #7

Notes:

It sounds like Ben Roethlisberger is going to be activated from the covid list, fly to LA and be ready to start Sunday Night.

Chase Claypool is expected back this week after a one-game absence.  This should mean that Ray Ray McCloud’s role is reduced from last week where he played nearly 70% of the plays.

Favorites:

Najee Harris, $11,800

  • The Chargers have struggled stopping the run this season (worst in DVOA in the NFL).
  • Harris leads the NFL in carries the last five weeks (121).
  • He is a true three down back that catches the ball out of the backfield, and gets goaline carries. A must own in a single game Showdown Slate. 25% Captain.

Justin Herbert, $11,200

  • It has not been a smooth ride for Herbert this year as he has looked terrific some weeks and ordinary others.
  • He has a really high ceiling however and has three games this season with 3+ TD passes and four with 300+ yards passing.
  • I like owning Herbert in the Captain spot on 20% of my rosters and also stacking with a couple pass catchers (mostly Allen).

Keenan Allen, $9,400

  • A crazy amount of targets the last three games (35).
  • 5th most redzone targets in the NFL (18), although he has only converted two of them.
  • Has the best cornerback match-up in the slot whether it is Tre Norwood or Arthur Maulet.
  • I will own him as captain on about 20-25% of my rosters.

Value:

Diontae Johnson, $8,800

  • Tremendous volume every week, benefits huge from Roethlisberger back this week.
  • Six games with double digit targets.
  • Every single game this year with double digit points
  • Being the underdog in this game, the Steelers will likely be required to pass more than they like and DJ is their target monster.

Pat Freiermuth, $5,400

  • A huge leap in targets the last four games whether it is Roethlisberger throwing or Mason Rudolph.
  • He had 9 targets last week and caught 5/31, but could have been much more as he had a couple drops.
  • This appears to be the best value on the board as he continues to see endzone targets as well.

Sleepers:

James Washington, $4,800

  • Not real impressive numbers this season, but at least he is on the field the majority of the time.
  • A season high 6 targets last week and his first TD.
  • The Chargers have struggled a bit in slot coverage this season and Washington plays there the most.

Jared Cook $4,000

  • A good amount of targets for a guy at this price (19 the last four games).
  • Has two TDs this year and has four games with double digit fantasy points.

Deep Sleepers:

Jalen Guyton, $2,000

  • Capable of a big play that would blow away his price, though he is far from a high volume, consistent option.
  • The Chargers #3 WR, it is all about him saving cap space and having a long catch.

Possible lineups:

C- Allen, Herbert, Freiermuth, Guyton, D Johnson, Williams

C- Allen, Herbert, Freiermuth, Cook, Washington, D Johnson

C- Harris, Herbert, Allen, Guyton, Freiermuth, Cook
