The Daily Spin – Divisional Playoff Round

The Wildcard round did not disappoint, especially as a Vikings fan. All four games came down to the final possession and two went to overtime. Each season, it seems like there are some clear favorites for the Super Bowl coming in, but this year, it feels a little more wide open now that the Patriots seem to be descending from their perch. Going into the second round, seven of the eight remaining teams did not make it this far a year ago and the last from this group to win a Super Bowl was the 2013 Seattle Seahawks.

This week presents us with four interesting match ups. The spreads are telling us that none of these games should be particularly close and yet I have a feeling that at least a couple of these home teams will end up getting beat this week. When approaching these small slates, I stick to smaller contests with single entry being preferred. I will play a few 50/50 contests and some small GPP events, but these events are tricky with so few players to work with and if you only play a handful of lineups each week, if you miss the slate breaking play, you will get buried since everyone that is relevant is going to have a decent amount of ownership for the week. Of course, the Millionaire Maker from a week ago should give you all the reasons you need to not chase these top heavy paydays.
