The Daily Spin – NFL Cash Game Edition – Week 6

The Daily Spin – NFL Cash Game Edition – Week 6

In Week 4, I had a small win, but was right on the border of making it into winning territory or not in most cash games. I would have easily cleared the hurdle except for the fact that I just could not get myself to use three Lions on my cash team for the week. I used Williams at RB at TJ at TE, but could not pull the trigger on Reynolds at WR. He was cheap and well positioned for a solid game, but it just seemed like too big of a commitment to use all three so I punted elsewhere and of course it did not work out at all. I decided I would not make the same mistake in Week 5.

I used three Bucs last week. I knew Chris Godwin would be the highest owned player in cash games at his price so I locked him in first. Tom Brady was priced way too low for a matchup against Atlanta. I considered either Brady or Allen at QB and was hesitant to drop down to Brady as he has a much lower floor and ceiling than Allen, but I did not like the punt options available at RB or WR that much last week and could see that my lineup was going to be more balanced so decided to go with Brady. While Godwin did not pan out, he did not kill us with six catches for 61 yards and 2 rushing yards. Brady managed to throw for over 300 yards and 2 TDs so while he did not put up Allen-esque numbers, it was fine for $6000.

I really liked Leonard Fournette at RB as well in that game. It made me nervous to use him with Brady and Godwin, but the way I saw it, he was going to see a lot of touches against the Falcons in a game Tampa was expected to dominate. He’s also seeing so much work as a pass catching RB that his floor is now higher than almost any other RB around the NFL. I was rewarded for using Lenny as he piled up 139 total yards, caught a TD pass and ran one in for a huge fantasy day.

There were a couple of plays that I did not even think about last week. The Cowboys were the obvious put play on defense against the Rams and they did not disappoint as they continue to swarm slow, immobile QBs. They were popular, but also put up 23 DK points. I also used Tyler Higbee at TE. He continues to be one of the most targeted TEs in the NFL this season, but his price point has not moved much since he has not been scoring TDs. We got a 7/46 performance out of him, which was right in range with our hopes at the beginining of the week.

The other plays came together pretty easily. I loved the Saints/Seahawks game for fantasy purposes. Alvin Kamara returned to action and was priced way too cheap given the role I thought he would have in the offense for New Orleans. He nearly hit a double bonus for us and totaled 194 yards on the day. Anytime he is under $7k, he is almost an automatic start.

For WR, I continued to load up on the Seahawks/Saints game with Tyler Lockett and Chris Olave. Both of them were priced way too low given their work in the passing game for each team. Olave left the game in the second half after hitting his head and suffering a concussion, but at least he did manage to catch a TD.  Tyler Lockett was able to get deep twice on the Saints for long TDs and went over 100 yards so it was an amazing day for a $5600 WR.

My last spot open was at Flex. I had $6500 and James Robinson was $6300 and playing against a terrible Texans run defense. It seemed like another smash spot for him, but he was shutdown along with the rests of the Jags offense and was held to 5.9 DK points, a massive bust for the week, but fortunately the only one for me. The rest of my roster did great and put up 184.64 DK points so it was another easy win in cash games for me.
