It was a solid week, though it took me all the way to the final drive of the Rams/49ers game to get to the money. Deebo and Puka both had great days in leading me back from the abyss. I have never seen anything quite like Puka Nucua in the first two weeks of the season. I think most of us remember during the summer when Matthew Stafford’s wife talked about how hard of a time he was having connecting with his new receivers and trying to learn their names….what an amazing slow roll!! Can you imagine this offense once Cooper Kupp returns to full speed?

Beyond Deebo and Puka, Josh Allen bounced back well for us against the Raiders. The only issue there was that the Raiders could not keep the game competitive so he really did not need to do much as far as putting the team on his back. Perhaps that is for the better as he tends to make mistakes when he pushes too hard.

At RB, Kelley was a total bust against the Titans. I had a bad feeling he might lay an egg. It is hard enough to run against the Titans and then Kelley does not really catch the ball much so he has a very low floor even as a featured RB. My fear was that if I faded him and he played well, his extreme ownership could crush me so I chose to make my stand in other areas. David Montgomery played well, but a leg contusion in the 3rd quarter knocked him out of the game just when it looked like he was about to finish strong.

At WR, Ridley was a total dud. The Chiefs smothered the Jags and stuffed the passing game all day. It was disappointing after such a great return in Week 1. The Jags have enough depth at WR so that you expect a lot of advantageous one on one matchups, but the Jags looked out of sync for most of the day. I think he gets back on track this week. Diggs was not much better. He started strong, but the game turned into a blowup at the midway point which made it less urgent to get him the ball. It was not as bad as Ridley, but for $8k, you expect more than 13.6 points.

At TE, I went with Musgrave for the low price and the thought that without Aaron Jones and Christian Watson, that he might take on a bigger role. He went for a very paltry 3/2/25/0 line that did nothing for my team. I think I am done guessing at TE at this point. I am going to focus in on targets in the value range moving forward instead of trying to project what should or should not be a strong spot for newer starters at the position.
