Zach’s Betting Picks – Week 1

Welcome to the 2021 NFL season! Coming off of a strong performance from 2020, I am excited to be back giving you my best analysis of a handful of games each week where I see opportunities for us to make a little bit of money. While the NFL is not always the easiest place to make money, there are still small edges to exploit just often enough to scrape away a small profit while giving us a little something extra to root for while we watch the games each week. I will post my picks throughout the week as I make my own bets. Sometimes the picks come early and other times something in an injury report from a beat writer will put me onto something where I need to act quickly. The first place you will see any of my picks will be in the Slack chat if I see something that I need to jump on before I get a chance to write up a full analysis. I will do my best to post the pick here as well, though the writeup may not come with it immediately. I will usually post around 3-4 picks per week, but may only do a couple if there is not a lot to like on the board for a specific week. They will get added throughout the week and are usually finished by Saturday, though if news breaks on Sunday, be sure to check in to see if anything else gets posted late. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of our Slack chat NFL channel. If you have not joined it yet, do it now. When you enter Slack, go to channel # NFL and meet the group. We have a very knowledgeable room there and everyone is always eager to share ideas.

As you make your bets, I realize that not everyone will be operating with the same lines and spreads. Take your time to shop the lines around. I use a handful of online books and there are usually some discrepancies between them as we found in making our prop bets over the last couple of weeks.
