Zach’s Betting Picks – Week 5

We ended up 2-1-1 last week. The Vikings/Texans managed to get us an over by just a half point, though it really should have been more had the Texans not lost a TD at the end of the game. A slow start from the Texans made that game a sweat as somehow, they were only able to put up 6 points against a beat up Viking defense, but in the end, we got there.

The Seahawks/Dolphins game ended up as a tie for the week which was both incredible, but also frustrating. The Dolphins moved the ball up and down the field, but ended up kicking five FGs and throwing 2 INTs. They left about 15 points on the field. The Seahawks threw an INT in the end zone ending a deep drive. They also opted to go for it on 4th and 3 early in the game instead of kicking a 32 yard FG. It seemed like an odd call and of course, they did not convert so we lost points there. Both teams seemed to go into scramble mode late and managed to get us up to 54 points for a push, but it felt like a missed opportunity.

The Bills covered pretty easily against the Raiders. The Bills are a far superior team so only being favored by three on what was essentially a neutral field was a gift. The Raiders scored late to pull within 7, but the Bills recovered the ensuing onside kick to seal things up.

The Rams looked to be in a daze for most of the game against the Giants. I have no idea what to make of this team. Are they going to be strong on offense or sputter along, unable to put bad teams away? They got a late TD on a long pass and run from Cooper Kupp, but could never put the game truly out of reach against a Giants offense that will struggle to move the ball against almost everyone they play this season. All in all, not a bad week to come away ahead.
